Four fuel pumps for Cummins diesel generators
1, Tandem pump:
Tandem pumps are used in car pump nozzle systems. This pump is an assembly consisting of a fuel pump and a vacuum pump for brake booster. It is installed on the cylinder head of the diesel generator and is driven by the diesel generator camshaft. The fuel pump itself is either a vane pump with closed vanes or a gear pump. Even at very low speeds, enough fuel can be delivered to ensure that the diesel generator starts reliably. There are various valves, throttles and bypass passages in this fuel pump.
2, Electric fuel pump:
Electric fuel pumps are only used in cars and light commercial vehicles. In the framework of system monitoring, in addition to fuel supply, it is also responsible for cutting off fuel supply in the event of an accident. The electric fuel pump has two forms: built-in pump and external pump.
3, Gear fuel pump:
The main component of a gear fuel pump is two counter-rotating gears, which mesh with each other when they rotate. At the same time, the fuel enters the cavity formed between the gear teeth and is transported from the inlet side to the outlet side. The contact line between the rotating gears provides a seal between the outlets of the fuel pump and prevents fuel from flowing back.
4, Vane type fuel pump with closed vanes:
This type of pump is used in car pump nozzle systems. The spring presses the two closed blades towards the rotor. When the rotor rotates, the volume of the inlet end increases, and fuel is sucked into the two cavities; the rotor continues to rotate, and the fuel is forced out from the two cavities. This pump can deliver oil even at a very low speed.
