The working principle of the piston cooling nozzle

If the piston does not take special measures, the heat can only be transferred to the oil mist in the crankcase through the inner surface of the piston. If it is necessary to strengthen the cooling of the piston, the part of the oil flow of the lubricating oil circulating in the vehicle engine is branched and allowed to flow into the piston. In order to make the cooling effect and manufacturing cost meet the requirements, there are several possibilities. The simplest solution is: if the connecting rod has a longitudinal hole, the oil hole is set in the big or small hole of the connecting rod, and the oil hole should fit the shape of the inner side of the piston. The oil hole provides an oscillating intermittent oil jet within the swing angle of the connecting rod. Due to the consideration of the lubrication of the connecting rod bearing and the inertial force acting on the oil, there is only a limited amount of oil for piston cooling. It is more reliable and more effective to inject oil to the piston from a nozzle fixed on the body.

During the operation of the automobile, in order to ensure that the piston head of the automobile engine does not overheat, the piston head needs to be cooled. The principle of cooling is to set a cooling oil passage in the piston head, and then cool by the piston installed on the cylinder head. The nozzle sprays cooling oil into the cooling oil passage to reduce the temperature of the piston head. In traditional engine design, a piston is usually equipped with a cooling nozzle, and the fuel injection direction is fixed. In a multi-cylinder engine, multiple cooling nozzle brackets are required, and the piston cooling nozzles are mostly installed on the cylinder block. The installation structure of the chamber and the piston usually requires special tooling to install the piston cooling nozzle on the engine block. The installation process is complicated and the use cost is high.

Therefore, it is necessary to improve the existing engine piston cooling nozzle, which can efficiently cool the piston during engine operation, save the number of parts used, and save the cost.
