Valve Stem Guide

The valve stem guide is the guiding device of the engine valve. The valve guide guides the valve and makes the heat on the valve stem transfer to the cylinder head through the valve guide.

Function

The function of the valve guide is to guide the movement of the valve, to ensure the reciprocating linear motion of the valve, to make the valve and the seat ring fit correctly, and to transfer the heat of the valve stem to the cylinder head. There are two types of valve guides: integral type and insert type: the integral type valve guide is directly processed into the valve stem hole in the cylinder head; the insert type valve guide is pressed into the guide hole in the cylinder head with interference – a cylindrical tube . The valve guide installation needs to press the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of the valve guide into the valve guide hole of the cylinder head or cylinder block after processing, and then finish the inner hole of the hinge. In combination with the positioning snap ring, the guide tube can be prevented from moving and falling into the cylinder during operation. Generally, there is a slight gap between the valve rod and the valve guide, so that the valve rod can move freely in the guide tube.
