What is Turbocharger
Turbocharging refers to a technology that drives and compresses air through a turbocharger to increase the intake air volume of the engine, so that the fuel is fully burned, thereby obtaining greater torque and power, and improving engine horsepower.
Working Principle
The turbocharger is connected to the exhaust manifold of the engine. The exhaust gas discharged from the cylinder drives the turbine to rotate, similar to a gas turbine. The turbine is connected by a shaft to the compressor installed between the air filter and the suction pipe. The compressor compresses air into the cylinder. Exhaust from the cylinders flows over the turbine blades, causing the turbine to spin. The more exhaust that flows over the blades, the faster the turbine spins. At the other end of the shaft that connects to the turbine, a compressor pumps air into the cylinders. A compressor is a centrifugal pump that draws in air at the center of the vanes and throws it outside as it spins.
